Psalm 1.4

4 "The wicked are not so, but as the chaff, which the wind driveth away."

  1. Verse four is a continuation of the previous paragraph. As such, it is an extension of the previous paragraph’s thoughts.

    It is reasonable then, for us to deduce that the wicked: Do walk in the counsel of the ungodly;
    do stand with sinners; and do embrace the scorn of righteousness.

  2. Further, the wicked: do not delight in the law of the LORD, or meditate on it; neither do they possess Living Water as a source of sustenance or a resource for the bearing of spiritual and temporal fruit.

  3. Winnowing, in the near east, is the process whereby cracked or ground whole heat is thrown into the wind. The wind blows away the lighter undesirable bran. The usefulness of the wicked is as waste. They are un-useful (and unuseable)?
