The path of the unregenerate will lead them to “lostness” (from the Arabic analogy of lost sheep aimlessly wandering in the desert, and thereby disappearing).
to me the answer is simple.....God knows who is trying to do right....they are the ones who will be happy they did in the end. the ones who did not will not be so happy in the end. Paul is warning them of Gods judgement.
God is intimately aware of the path of the elect.
